In 1492 Martin Behaim – a confident mathematician and astronomer – constructed a globus depicting the world his contemporaries knew. Scholars applauded, he earned the court's respect.
In 1493 Krzysztof Kolumb returned from the journey from the other part of the globe having discovered new lands.
And everything changed.
